Hey Conor. I've been hesitating on buffett interpretation of financial statements for a while. Did you learn anything new from the book or see it more of a refresher of concepts and for beginners? Thanks!

Hey Russ, so i read this when i was younger and for me it had a lot of new concepts at the time.

I think even if you are relatively seasoned, its still a good book to grab because it (a) shows you what Buffett looks for and (b) acts as a good refresher.

On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being new investor and 10 being expert, i’d candidly say this book slots into a ~4.5, if that makes sense. Nothing breathtakingly new or nuanced, but a solid book all the same.

Great book pack, top quality!

Complementary to #2 Stress Test, I highly recommend this great 65h course from Yale on the 2007-2009 Global Financial Crisis (I did my thesis on the subprime mortgage crisis, fascinated by the topic).

There is naturally some overlap between the book and the course, but great for video learners. Hard to go wrong mixing top academician Andrew Metrick with top practitioner former Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner = great insight!

Cheers!

welcome, forgot to add: the course is not just some 'old' recorded video lecture but more like a running one as for example recently they did add coverage on SVB etc.
